To have a document notarized, you must present a valid, government-issued photo ID. The ID must be current and not expired. Acceptable forms of identification include:
- A driver’s license or state ID card (from any U.S. state)
- A U.S. or foreign passport (book or card)
- A U.S. military ID card
- An ID issued by a federally recognized Indian tribe
- Any U.S. government-issued ID that includes both a photograph and a signature
